The Wings for Life World Run is a global race with a difference. Wings for Life has a single mission: to find a cure for spinal cord injury.
On May 8, 2016, over 100,000 participants in 34 locations worldwide will start the Wings for Life World Run at precisely the same time - whether that’s dawn in North America, the middle of the day in Europe, or at night here in Australia. The Melbourne start time is 21:00 making for an exciting night running experience! The race pack you receive includes a LED LENSER headlamp (RRP$47) and a PUMA technical race t-shirt (RRP$35).
The Catcher Cars take off 30 minutes after the start at 15km/h and steadily increase their speed, precisely synced across the globe, until the last participants have been caught. Set yourself a distance goal with the handy Goal Calculator and see how far you can run to make spinal cord injury curable.
This year, we'll be running on an all new flatter and safer course for Melbourne which allows quicker transport back to the race hub where the live broadcast from all 34 locations will be waiting for you!
Who's joining me in the Wings for Life World Run ? I've created a Kari On Training Team, and together we are running around the world for those who can’t. 100% of the entry fee and money we raise together goes towards the hope to finding a cure towards spinal cord injury. We will all be running at the same time around the world to make a difference.
Who's with me?
From the beginning, Wings for Life World Run has been an organic being, growing in the most unexpected and most exciting ways. A race focussed on getting runners in every corner of the global out there running for those who can’t? Because every single extra person who runs for those who can’t brings the cure for spinal cord injury one step closer.
